...Well I wish you could man more troops and see text but...the rest I agree with.

I never really liked the idea of having too many soldiers, because it becomes less about strategy and just throwing lots of cannon fodder and those who don't die get to move on trough the ranks. Least with a limited number of troops, you kinda need to have more strategy and making sure you just don't throw your guys into the meat grinder.

That is true I guess, but come on, the aliens always get 6 to 24+ troops per campaign mission, that about 4 vs 1 at worst. With only a small number of troops you might as well be putting them in a meat grinder.

8-10 seems like a fair limit personally, at least your not totally out gun, 2 vs 1 sounds somewhat fairer then having up to 4 guns trained at any man at any given time, you could easily get wiped by getting flanked form north, east, south, and west.

If you want that go play Xcom: the long war. gives you a option for 12 after upgrading your dropship. though balances it out for making the game harder along with added stuff. also Xcom2 will have mod support unlike Enemy unknown

This game was an absolute hit, and mod support lets you add more soldiers or use fewer. There's enough modifications out there to convert it into a Star Wars or Warhammer 40k game, for fluffs' sake. And now we're onto the Chimaera Squad spin-off and 3 is supposedly in the works.

XCOM's got some big pixel art inspiration for me, and I enjoy watching my friends stream the game!

Necroposting from two years later to remind anyone who plays this game to ALWAYS outflank the enemy at every opportunity.
